ABOUT ABOUT

Have you been waiting for a chance to get outside and explore the waterways of the Pinelands National Reserve and network with colleagues in the architecture profession?  AIA-West Jersey Emerging Professionals Community (EPiC) is taking a group out on the Mullica River this August for a half-day canoe tour guided by John Volpa of Pinelands Adventures.  This half-day trip features a educational program with information about the early colonial history of South Jersey and stops on the river to demonstrate the rich ecology of the Pine Barrens.  Hurry now and reserve your ticket to the river - a limited quantity of seats are available!

From Pineland Adventures website (http://www.pinelandsadventures.org):

Take a 3 hour trip down the Mullica River from Atsion Lake dam to Beaver Dam with guide and naturalist John Volpa. Participants will get a Pine Barrens Primer by exploring the river for an overview of Pine Barrens habitats, history and plants and animals.

This is a great trip for families, scouts or groups. Guided trips are limited to 14 people and minimum age is 8. Participants must be able to canoe or kayak for about 2 hours while also exploring on land. Paddling instruction is not a component of this trip. Participants seeking to learn paddling basics should join us for our canoeing lessons class.

Trip leader John Volpa, Pinelands Adventures’ Education Director, has a long history of Pine Barrens exploration. John is a highly skilled paddler and passionate about sharing the Pine Barrens.
